Our primary goal is to provide our clients with the services of a drafting department, without the overhead. BDC is structured to be as flexible as needed to begin your project within a few days of award and to meet the most challenging schedules.
Both BDC partners started their careers working in structural shops, learning from some of the iron workers in the country. We consider a project with 2 tons of steel to be just as important as a job with 1,000 tons.
Bridgeton Drafting's partners both spent time employed as chief draftsmen for competing miscellaneous shops. In addition to stairs, rails, and gates, we can provide detailing for bridges, rebar, fencing and even Grizzly Bear Habitats.
BDC has provided plans and lists directly for N.J. Bouras, Owen Joist, New Millenium, Canam, and Vulcraft for over 30 years. We are your go to detailer to help you beat those long lead times.

Alan Robertson
Founder
George began his journey into the steel industry by working in the shop at Belmont Iron Works, a large shop with over 400 employees. He rose to become V.P. of estimating & detailing. When Belmont was sold, he was named General Manager of General Iron, and then Morris Wheeler. He noticed throughout the 80's & 90's, it was becoming harder to find qualified detailers to work on mid sized and smaller projects. Many shops closed their detailing departments to trim overhead. New detailing firms popped up all over, focusing on big jobs that they could produce on their new CAD software. He found Bridgeton Drafting in 1992 to provide detailing for the mid sized and small projects most detailers ignored. For over thirty years, BDC has been able to help many fabricators complete those jobs on time and on budget.
